> Pick two channels you can sustain, prepare a week of posts before day one, launch with a thread and a demo, then measure clicks not likes.

## Before you start

- A landing page with a clear call to action and UTM-tagged links per channel
- Profiles on the chosen channels with a bio that says what the product does

Social media launch is a content plan with a start date. The mistakes are almost all about scope — too many channels, too much posted on day one, nothing afterwards — so this playbook narrows before it broadens.

## 1. Choose two channels and one message

- [ ] List where your customers actually spend time; pick the two channels where you can post for a year.
- [ ] Write the one-sentence message: who it is for, what it does, what changes for them. Every post is a variation of it.
- [ ] Tag every link with utm_source per channel.

## 2. Prepare a week of posts before launch

- [ ] A launch thread or carousel: the problem, the product in three images or a 30-second video, the offer, the link.
- [ ] Five follow-up posts: a customer story, a behind-the-scenes, a comparison, a tip, a question to the audience.
- [ ] Assets in native formats: vertical video for Instagram/TikTok, 1200×627 images for LinkedIn/X, a demo GIF.

## 3. Warm up the accounts

- [ ] Two weeks before, post daily about the problem space without the product; reply to people in your niche.
- [ ] Join the relevant subreddits, Discords and groups and contribute genuinely; read their promotion rules.

## 4. Launch day

- [ ] Post the launch thread at the time your analytics show your audience is online.
- [ ] Message 20–50 people personally with the link and one sentence about why it is relevant to them — no bulk DMs.
- [ ] Reply to every comment and quote-post for the first day.

## 5. The two weeks after

- [ ] One post a day from the prepared set, adapted to what got responses on day one.
- [ ] Share user reactions and early numbers; people share momentum.
- [ ] Post in communities only where you have participated, framed as "I built this, feedback welcome".

## 6. Measure and decide

- [ ] After two weeks, compare clicks and sign-ups per channel from the UTM data.
- [ ] Keep the winning channel at 2–3 posts a week; drop or reduce the other.
- [ ] Boost the single best-performing organic post with a small paid budget if the numbers justify it.

## Where people get this wrong

- Launching on six platforms at once. Two channels posted consistently beat six posted once; choose where your customers already are.
- Posting links into subreddits and groups you have never participated in. Reddit and niche communities remove it and remember you; earn the right first.
- Measuring likes. Impressions and likes are vanity; clicks to the site and sign-ups per channel are the only numbers that decide where to spend the next month.
- Stopping after launch week. The launch posts get you attention; the weekly cadence afterwards is what compounds.

## Questions

**Which channels?**
B2B and developer tools: LinkedIn and X, plus the relevant subreddits and Discord communities. Consumer: Instagram/TikTok with short video, plus YouTube for demos. Pick two.

**How often?**
During launch week, daily. After that, a cadence you can hold for a year: 2–3 posts a week per channel is realistic for one person.

**Should I pay to boost?**
Only after organic posts show which message gets clicks; boost the proven post to a lookalike audience, small budget, measured.
